Responsibilities Duties include assisting the lab technicians to perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in any one or a combination of the following sections of the laboratory:
chemistry, urinalysis, toxicology and molecular testing Receive specimens and determine the suitability of specimens for analysis Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure that the physiologic state of the properties is maintained Prepare and send specimens for transport to reference laboratory.
Receive and send reference laboratory reports to provider.
Prepare biological waste for proper disposal Qualifications Minimum Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Other Education:
Degree/Education from a Medical Lab Tech training program accredited by the NAACLS or the ABHES or Bachelor of Science in appropriate field.
Certification as a Medical Lab Tech by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP)or American Medical Technologist (AMT) or state licensure as a MLT or MT (Can be in progress) Minimum
Experience:
a minimum of one (1) year of work in an accredited laboratory (i.
e.
, AABB, CAP, COLA, DNV, Joint Commission, etc.
), within the previous five (5) years (is preferred but not required) Job Types:
