Non-Exempt Part-Time POSITION SUMMARY.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Under the direction of the Youth Program Director, the Officials will be responsible for caring for children, ensuring safety, and constant implementation of game rules and regulations.

Essential Functions:
1.
Required to complete all necessary official trainings prior to the season.
2.
Meet with coaches prior to the start of the games to ensure understanding of any rule variations that might be in effect.
3.
Ensure that games begin and end at scheduled times.
4.
Serve as a positive role model to players, parents, coaches, and fellow officials by enforcing all rules, demonstrating good sportsmanship, and officiating consistently with the YMCA Youth Super sports philosophy.
5.
Report any injuries to supervisor.
6.
Understand and enforce all game rules and regulations.
7.
Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct.
8.
Mediate possible confrontations.
9.
Communicate efficiently and respectfully with players and coaches.
10.
Be responsible in showing up to shifts on time and communicating any scheduling conflicts with management.
11.
Must be available for a minimum of 6 weeks during scheduled season.
12.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1.
16 years and older age requirement 2.
Open availability to work weekends 3.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
4.
New employee orientation and leader certification completed in the first 6 months.
5.
Two years' experience in specific sport is preferred.
6.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
